Web Design Guidelines
|
|
My work is dedicated to
positive website design. |
|
There are many
options available to Website owners now, from the very
basic to flashy high-tech sites. The Internet
Architecture Board (IAB) has set standards that may make
browsing the internet easier and more enjoyable for
everyone. I try to keep those recommendations in mind to
give my clients the widest viewing audience possible.
For instance:
-
Most customers just
want to find what they are looking
for, how much it costs, and pay for
it. Few of them care about how
dazzling the site is. And high web
design fees will ultimately raise
the price of your products to the
consumer.
-
Most people still use a 15" monitor,
which requires them to scroll both down and over
to see a site designed for larger screens. My sites
are all design to fit a 15" screen
and print on a 8 1/2" wide page unless otherwise
requested.
-
Only newer computers
have the memory, speed and capacity
to view most Special Effects. Many
require special plug-ins that can't be run on
older systems. This is a frustrating issue to most
Internet users that may cause them to skip your site
completely. People also hate to
see moving objects on a page.
-
Frames can only be viewed by newer
browsers which your customer my not have or be able
to install on their computer. Creating two versions
of every webpage is an option but can become very
costly.
-
While Java is necessary with E-Commerce
and Forms, many people disable it to prevent viruses
and other harmful data from infiltrating their
computer system. While using Java for special
effects is interesting it may also narrow your
customer base.
